Account Manager, Public Affairs

Do you want to be part of a global team working to drive positive change through technology?

Clarity provides fearless marketing and communications consultancy to the world’s most progressive companies. We do this by helping to solve their biggest challenges, and supporting their rapidly changing needs, with a strategic creative mindset and constantly expanding best-in-class, full-funnel, specialist services and expertise. We’re a global company with an entrepreneurial mindset, meaning agility, growth and a positive culture are essential to who we are.

We are looking for an experienced public affairs Account Manager to sit within our public affairs team at Clarity.

The Public Affairs team predominantly focuses in the areas of tech, telecoms, health and sustainability. It sits within the communications function at Clarity, consisting of PR, corporate communications and crisis communications. While focused on public affairs, there is the opportunity to expand your skill set across these disciplines and work closely with the other teams to shape and grow a truly integrated offering at a fast-moving, global and, most of all, exciting agency.

The Account Manager role will require you to hit the ground running as you will become the lynchpin across a number of our accounts, ensuring excellent client delivery and efficient team performance. As an important member of the team, this role will see you take the lead on day to day activity on accounts, helping to ensure your clients are on top of their relevant policy agenda and that campaigns you are delivering are progressing in terms of policy and business outcomes, whilst also remaining on time and on budget.

Working in a policy focused team you will keep your clients on top of policy developments, drive forward campaigns, build relationships with clients and stakeholders, deliver events and get stuck into new business. You will work closely with other senior team members to set the direction of accounts and then lead on its delivery.

The role will involve working across two of our main focus areas:

  • Health - working alongside a number of senior advisors from across the health sector covering various disease areas as well as broader market access challenges for medtech devices.
  • Tech - working across some of the most exciting tech policy areas, including cybersecurity, internet regulation and broadband.

A broad understanding of either or both sectors would be welcome. A hunger and interest in new business is important and encouraged. Supporting proposals and research for prospective clients, involvement in marketing initiatives and proactive network building will all form part of the day to day role.

About You

  • At least 3 years’ experience gained from working in consultancy, in-house, thinktank, regulator or Parliament
  • Experience and interest in a health market access setting or tech policy is welcome but not essential
  • Active participation/interest in party politics, ideally with a good political and sector network
  • Knowledge of UK Parliament & devolved administrations, politics, procedure and policy
  • Demonstrable experience of leading engagement programmes with policymakers
  • A track-record of project management and/or account management, including setting strategy and tracking budgets
  • Experience of helping develop and line manage team members
  • Strong communications skills, both written and oral
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise effectively
  • Excellent work ethic with a proactive can-do attitude
  • An entrepreneurial spirit

Benefits

We offer a competitive salary and incredible benefits including healthcare, phone allowance, a flexible remote work policy, unlimited paid time off (and we mean it!) paid time off for volunteering, summer Fridays, generous paid family leave policies, and much more.

Clarity is committed to promoting equality of opportunity for all staff and for our clients. We aim to create a working environment in which all individuals are able to make best use of their skills, free from discrimination or harassment, and in which all decisions are based on merit.
