OCU Hornbill is anestablished Process Control Instrumentation and Electrical servicescompany based in South Wales with a wide and diverse client basethroughout the UK and overseas.

Typical markets are Oil GasChemicals Metals and Utilities.

As an ApprenticeElectrician you will embark on a structured learning programdesigned to provide you with the necessary skills and knowledge tobecome a qualified electrician.

Under the supervision ofexperienced electricians you will gain practical experience andtheoretical understanding in electrical installation maintenanceand repair.

Duties andResponsibilities:

• Assist with ElectricalInstallations: Work alongside qualified electriciansto assist with the installation of electrical systems in varioussettings including residential commercial and industrialpremises.
• Learn Wiring andCircuitry: Gain handson experience in wiring andcircuitry including the installation of cables conduits switchessockets and lighting fixtures.
• Troubleshooting and Repairs: Learn to diagnose and rectify electrical faults and issues undersupervision ensuring that systems are functioning safely andefficiently.
• Follow ElectricalRegulations: Familiarise yourself with relevantelectrical regulations and standards ensuring compliance withsafety protocols and industry guidelines.
• Read Technical Drawings: Develop the ability to read and interpret technical drawingsschematics and blueprints to assist in installation and repairtasks.
• Testing andInspection: Participate in testing and inspectionprocedures to verify the integrity and safety of electricalinstallations equipment and systems.
• Health and SafetyCompliance : Always Adhere to health and safetyregulations and guidelines promoting a culture of safety in theworkplace.
• Documentation andReporting: Maintain accurate records of workundertaken including installation logs inspection reports andrepair documentation. Report findings and progress to seniorelectricians asrequired.
