About the role

Managing our approach to Engagement Quality Control Review and hot review teams, undertaking reviews and providing live feedback to audit teams

Supporting our audit teams through regulatory file inspections

Actively supporting and contributing to relevant technical groups including NAO technical networks and a range of panels and boards

Developing and delivering training for public sector auditors

Responding to audit approach queries from auditors and providing ad hoc support for audit teams on complex issues

Drafting responses to consultations on public sector audit matters

Supporting the PS AQST director in delivering VFM consistency panels, reviews and challenge to audit teams and engagement leads

What are we looking for?

Good knowledge of the NAO Code of Audit Practice and how this is applied in local government and NHS sectors in England

Good understanding of underlying International Standards on Auditing (UK)

Ability to build effective relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders

A keen interest in developing our business and our people and contributing to our continuing growth in the public sector

Relevant accounting qualification CPFA, ACA, ACCA, CA (or equivalent)
