Building Operations Manager

Hours of Work: Full-time (35 hours per week, Monday to Friday)

Contract type: Permanent

Salary: The starting salary will be from £56,021 - £64,914 per annum in Grade 9, depending on qualifications and experience

As the Building Operations Manager, you'll be responsible for overseeing and managing all estates and facilities services at the city campus.

Leading a team, you'll ensure the efficient and effective operation of the campus, maintaining high standards of quality and professionalism. Your role will involve providing leadership and support to ensure the university delivers a top-tier estates and facilities service.

With core hours from 8AM to 6PM, flexibility is required to meet the demands of the role.

Responsibilities

  • Providing high quality services, facilities and environment for all students, staff, visitors and partners.
  • Effective management of the buildings opening times
  • All statutory compliance in relation to the buildings operation(s)
  • Delivery of hard and soft facilities management
  • Reactive and planned maintenance
  • Management of contractors
  • Management of specific in-house facilities roles
  • Management of budgets
  • To be a member of the University Business Continuity Management command team in the event of a critical incident / incident recovery
  • About You

  • Hold a relevant qualification in facilities management/construction (, BSc Degree or HND/HNC)
  • Up-to-date H&S qualification (, IOSH managing safely, NEBOSH) is required
  • Experience managing facilities in an educational environment with a diverse team, both in-house and outsourced
  • Accountable for legal and statutory compliance in building operations, with knowledge of current legislation
  • Proficient in managing statutory building compliance using a multi-functional CAFM system
  • Initially, you will be based at Horsforth Campus, but it is expected you will relocate to the Leeds City Campus in Academic Year 2024/25.
