The Role  

This is a great new opportunity at Lancaster City Council, to join the integrated Asset and Compliance Team responsible for the Council’s corporate property portfolio and its housing stock.

Working closely with the Council’s wider Property Group we are looking for an experienced Commercial Property Manager to help drive forward the Council’s approach to asset and estate management.

The Asset and Compliance Team are an integral part of the Council, and are key in managing the land and property portfolio effectively and efficiently.

This is a new role within the Council, reflecting our ambitious plans in managing our property portfolio. 

The post holder will be expected to think outside the box and ensure property occupation is maximised to the benefit of the Council achieving corporate priorities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering the Council’s strategic approach as well as day to day co-ordination and management of the teams involved and works relating to our obligations in these areas.

They will ensure the estates management function meets all regulatory, good practice and legal obligations, ensuring the safety of our properties, tenants, colleagues and visitors and reporting on performance.

You will play a key role in supporting a transformation programme to enhance our asset services and encouraging and promoting a positive culture across the Council.

This role is permanent.

The hours of work for this post are 37 hours per week, working Monday to Friday and you will be based at Lancaster Town Hall, with the option for hybrid working available dependant on service requirements.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post.

Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
