Summary

As a Communications & Marketing Officer forthe South and East Devon portfolio, you'll be responsible for letting people know about the many beautiful places we care for including A la Ronde, Overbeck’s, Wembury, South Milton Sands, Branscombe and Shute Barton.

What it's like to work here

The South and East Devon portfolio spans from Wembury near Plymouth all the way to Branscombe near Sidmouth. With miles of beautiful coastline and two quirky built properties (A la Ronde and Overbeck’s) to care for, it really is a fascinating and varied place to work.

Although based at Overbeck’s, you’ll get to know our small team based across our portfolio and work closely with the Visitor Operations and Experience Manager and Visitor Experience Officer to share incredible stories and raise awareness about our conservation work.

What you'll be doing

Your day-to-day work will cover things like creating new content on our web pages, and making sure that existing information remains relevant and accurate, running social media accounts, creating promotional and information materials and writing and distributing press releases.

You will be a core member of a very small but friendly Visitor Experiences team who are passionate about bringing engaging stories to life from across the portfolio for a wide range of local and national audiences. You'll be making sure that we're sharing the best stories we can, with a focus on spreading the word about places to visit and letting people know about the Trust’s conservation work.

  • About National Trust

We all have a place we love. A place that inspires us. A place with its own unique and particular atmosphere. We were created to help people make the most of these very special places - and the good things that come from them.

We're independent of Government and receive no direct grant or subsidy for our core work. Instead, our future depends on the active support and generosity of 5.8 million members, 20 million visitors, 60,000 volunteers and over 11000 people who work with us (as well as thousands who help us seasonally), as well as benefactors, tenants and other partners.

Today, we're Europe's largest conservation organisation, with huge - and incredibly varied - responsibilities. We protect and welcome everyone to explore and enjoy some 709 miles of coastline, 250,000 hectares of land of outstanding natural beauty, 104 nature reserves, 6 World Heritage Sites. We also look after spectacular houses and gardens and one of the world’s largest and most significant holdings of fine art and heritage objects.

We want every one of our visitors to enjoy these amazing places and have an experience they'll never forget. We want them to try something they've never tried before, to gain a unique glimpse into the past and, ultimately, to love these special places as much as we do.
