Complex Needs Care Assistant (SEN Setting) in Milton Keynes

Dunbar Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Complex Needs Care Assistant to join our team in Milton Keynes.

This role will involve supporting children with complex needs in a Special Educational Needs (SEN) setting.

Responsibilities:Provide one-to-one support to students with complex needs, ensuring their safety, well-being, and personal development.

Assist with personal care tasks, including feeding, dressing, and toileting, as required by the individual needs of each student.

Implement personalised education and therapy plans under the guidance of the SEN Teacher or SEN Coordinator.

Foster a supportive and inclusive learning environment for students with complex needs.

Encourage and facilitate social interaction and engagement among students.

Monitor and record student progress and behavior, reporting any concerns or achievements to the appropriate staff members.

Collaborate with other professionals, such as therapists and healthcare providers, to ensure holistic care and support for students.

Participate in training sessions and professional development activities to enhance your skills and knowledge in working with complex needs students.

Requirements:Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably within a SEN setting.

A genuine passion for supporting and nurturing children with complex needs.

Understanding of the challenges faced by individuals with complex needs and the ability to provide appropriate care and support.

Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with students, parents, and other professionals.

Patience, empathy, and resilience when dealing with challenging situations.

Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.

Basic knowledge of relevant health and safety regulations.

A valid DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) clearance or willingness to obtain one.
