As we continue to deliver on our currentgrowth OCU have a new opportunity for a Consents Manager to jointhe team in Borehamwood Iver Reading.

As theConsents Manager at OCU you will be at the forefront of our DNO andEHV projects responsible for managing the consents and approvalsprocess.

With NEC experience as a prerequisiteyou will play a key role in ensuring that our projects meet allregulatory requirements and maintain the highest standards ofcompliance.

Duties andResponsibilities

  • Takeoverall responsibility for managing the consents and approvalsprocess.
  • Liaise with regulatory bodies localauthorities and stakeholders to secure necessaryconsents.
  • Provide guidance on NECrelatedmatters to internal project teams.
  • Utilizeextensive experience with NEC contracts to ensure projectcompliance and mitigate risks.
  • Apply indepthknowledge to navigate regulatory frameworks andrequirements.
  • Stay abreast of industry changesand emerging trends related to consents andapprovals.
  • Establish and maintain effectivecommunication channels with regulatory bodies local authorities andother relevant stakeholders.
  • Provide regularupdates to project teams on consentrelatedmatters.
  • Identify and assess potential risksassociated with consents and approvals.
  • Developand implement strategies to mitigate risks and ensure projectsuccess.
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensiverecords of all consents andapprovals.

Skills andExperience

  • Proven experienceas a Consents Manager within the electrical and powerfield
  • Mandatory experience with NECcontracts
  • Strong understanding of regulatoryrequirements
  • Excellent communication andnegotiation skills
  • Ability to collaborateeffectively with internal teams and externalstakeholders.
  • Make expectations clear and setstandards.
  • Organise delegate and manage workwithin the team to include monitoring sickness absence / Standardsof performance and sickness absenceprocedures.
  • Assist with 132kV 66kV and 33kVscheme preparation in terms of site and routeselection/acquisition.
  • Manage and negotiatecomplex consents wayleaves access routes easements and agreementsin respect of the location of and works to distribution assets(cables/lines/substations).
  • Provide a wayleaveservice to Projects for maintenance (including tree cutting) andconstruction schemes.
  • Responsible for managingand negotiating complex Injurious Affection Claims (including largedevelopment site claims).
  • Settling damagecompensation and other paymentclaims.
  • Approving processing and completion ofeasement and property matters with legaladvisors.
  • Assist with or coordinate or resolveconsent and wayleave legal matters (includinginquiries/hearings).
  • Undertake statutory andcourtesy consultation on developmentproposals.
  • Undertake and coordinate all majorproject planning applications and be the first point of contactwith local authorities DBEIS MIPU and otherconsultees/objectors.
  • Assist with thepreparation of wayleave/consent policy as required also preparationand control of the wayleave budget.
  • Monitor theeffect of development proposals on theenvironment.
  • Provide advice and assistance asrequired to the Estates Specialists in NetworkServices.
  • Coordinate and delegate workloadwithin the team to ensure that projects are delivered ontime.
  • Undertake Telecoms wayleave work asrequired.
  • Identify opportunities forimprovement in performance and implement or recommendchange.
  • Provide assistance to team members whenrequested.
  • Represent the Company on specialistgroups as required.
  • Be involved with theselection of new team members.
  • Identify thedevelopment needs of the team members.
  • Exerciseleadership
