Description

We are looking for people to join our fantastic team at Somerset House Trust. As the home of cultural innovators, the Trust connects creativity and the arts with the broader society.

We are looking for someone who will contribute to the positive energy of the team and hit the ground running as we prepare for a landmark year in 2025 when Somerset House will celebrate 25 years of cutting-edge cultural programming and the transformation of the site from government offices to home of cultural innovators.

Key responsibilities:

Account Management 

  • Produce a regular summary of forthcoming opportunities to share with key contacts. 
  • Act as the main point of contact for corporate members and partners hosting events on-site.  
  • Ensure that corporate members and partners are enabled to access the benefits, including ticket allocations and crediting, that they are entitled to.  
  • Draft contracts from templates, liaising with Somerset House Trust’s Head of Legal.  
  • To support the Development Manager, Corporate Membership & Partnerships to deliver key Corporate Partnerships, stewarding Corporate supporters to deliver against KPIs and secure renewal. 
  • Maintain and share up-to-date status reports on individual partnerships. 
  • Maintain accurate records of how different rights and sponsorship benefits are being used. 
  • Request and process invoices and monitor payment schedules of corporate members and partners. 
  • Continue to review and improve our account management tools and processes. 

New Business Development

  • Work with the Development Manager, Corporate Membership & Partnerships and other Development colleagues to shape corporate membership and partnership opportunities and to identify potential companies to approach. 
  • Research potential partners, secure meetings and prepare research for briefing notes. 
  • Produce impactful fundraising materials that convey opportunities effectively, reflecting Somerset House’s brand and core values. 

General

  • Assist with and attend Development cultivation events. 
  • Use our CRM system Tessitura to build guest lists and for keeping accurate records.
  • Act as an ambassador for Somerset House’s work externally, promoting Somerset House’s vision and programme amongst professional networks.
  • Ensure that all activities are compliant with Somerset House’s Health & Safety policies and that all data and records are in line with our Fundraising Policy, Somerset House’s Privacy Policy and GDPR guidelines.

The post will require some evening and early morning work, including attending early morning and evening cultivation and network events and exhibition openings.

We are looking for someone who has:

Essential 

  • Practical account management or events management experience in a commercial or not-for-profit setting.
  •  Experience of relationship management with a variety of stakeholders (e.g. corporate members, corporate clients, brand partners, individuals or trusts & foundations).
  • Project Management experience, or experience planning and coordinating as part of a team.
  • Confidence in establishing and managing complex stakeholder relationships, with ability to negotiate and manage expectations.
  • Excellent communication skills, both in person and in writing.
  • Excellent organisational skills, with ability to prioritise and work accurately in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to quickly learn and understand new programmes or systems (e.g. ticketing systems, financial systems and diary management systems).

Desirable

  • Understanding of and enthusiasm for the arts and creative sector.
  • Experience of working with Tessitura or other similar CRM systems.
