Cover Supervisor

Location: Hereford.

Hours: 830am – 330pm

Pay: £95-£110 per day

Start date: 6th May

Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a highly motivated Cover Supervisor to join a prestigious Secondary school in Hereford. The school is heavily invested in sports, so we strongly advise anyone with a sporting background or any coaching or playing experience to apply.  

In this role, you will play a crucial part in the educational process by supervising classes during the absence of a teacher. Your primary responsibilities will include student engagement, maintaining a positive learning atmosphere, and ensuring that students remain focused and on task.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with students aged 11-16 and make a meaningful impact on their educational journey.

The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, along with the ability to effectively manage a classroom. A genuine passion for education is essential, and while previous experience working with children or young people is preferred, it is not mandatory.

Teaching Personnel also provide training during half-terms to help upskill you into the role along with training on site.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise classes in the absence of a teacher, maintaining a supportive and inclusive environment.
  • Manage student behaviour and promote active engagement to ensure a productive learning experience.
  • Follow lesson plans provided by the absent teacher to facilitate continuity and meet educational objectives.
  • Engage with students in outdoor activities and PE Lessons.

Requirements:

  • Enhanced DBS cleared & on the update service. (or willing to apply)
  • Be able to provide 2 of your most recent references.
  • Have the right to work in the UK.
  • Have up to date safeguarding training or willing to take it. (Provided for free by Teaching Personnel)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
