Elevate is seeking an Employment Lawyer to join a multinational bank on an interim 24-month contract starting immediately.

The role involves managing employment law matters for the Bank in the UK and Europe, mitigating risks related to people issues, and supporting group-wide projects with an employment law element.

You might be the right person if you:

  • Have a UK Solicitor’s Regulation Authority practising certificate.
  • Strong employment law experience from a top-tier law firm (ideally, at least 3+ years of PQE).
  • Experience providing general advisory on internal investigations, disciplinaries, and grievances, as well as advising on employee relations issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, redundancy/restructuring, and termination of employment.
  • Enjoy a varied workload of contentious and advisory employment law work.
  • Ability to multi-task and work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Employment litigation
  • Drafting and advising on employment contracts and policies
  • Employee data privacy issues and data subject access requests (preferred)
  • Regulatory issues affecting staff, particularly remuneration (preferred)

  • Strong organisational skills to manage multiple matters and stakeholders simultaneously, pivoting as priorities change.
  • Analytical skills are crucial for identifying key legal issues in employment disputes, and as more information becomes available, a pragmatic approach is needed.
  • Excellent communication skills and a succinct written style are essential.
  • A strategic mindset is required, considering the wider organisational, commercial, or regulatory impact of a matter.
  • A disciplined approach towards timelines and tracking steps is necessary to manage matters and implement a strategic approach while keeping stakeholders updated.
