Job Title: Energy and Sustainability Specialist

Type: Full Time / Permanent

Location: Northampton with UK wide travel

Salary: £45k plus car allowance and bonus opportunity

The Role

A greenfield opportunity to drive improvements in sustainability and carbon reduction throughout the organisation. The post holder will be responsible to the Head of Facilities for managing and monitoring Bright Horizons UK Energy/Utility consumption and for proactively leading the management of energy saving schemes and will be the lead specialist for Energy Management and lead specialist for related Sustainability matters.

What You Will Be Doing:

Fully computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. including utilisation of energy monitoring software to prepare reports and target high usage.

Most importantly, you will have experience delivering energy solutions and should have excellent general knowledge of Energy and Carbon legislation/compliance.

Keeping up to date with changes in Energy and Carbon regulations and best practice.

Supporting behavioural change programmes relating to reducing energy usage and carbon emissions.

What We Are Looking For:

  • Fully computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. including utilisation of energy monitoring software to prepare reports and target high usage.
  • Most importantly, you will have experience delivering energy solutions within Buildings and should have excellent general knowledge of Energy and Carbon legislation/compliance.
  • Keeping up to date with changes in Energy and Carbon regulations and best practice.
  • Supporting behavioural change programmes relating to reducing energy usage and carbon emissions.

Desirable Experience :

  • Energy Consultancy, or Energy Management but should have a Degree/HNC in either an Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Building Services), or Energy Specific Subject Matter (Energy Engineering, Renewable Energy).
  • Professional qualification and relevant membership of CIBSE/Energy Institution and/or evidence of working towards full membership.
  • Maintaining professional qualification and undertaking the required amount of continue professional development.
  • Experience of working in the education/childcare sector.
  • Experience of working in occupied settings
  • Minimum 1-2 of 5 plus years working in an Energy & Sustainability Management role.
