Grounds Maintenance in Stockport

Sure Start Staff are currently looking for x2 Grounds Maintenance workers, you will be responsible for performing various duties related to cemetery maintenance and burial preparations.Employment Type: Temporary reviewed after 2 monthsPay rate: £13.50 per hourHours: Full time, 8.00am – 4.30pmLocation: Mill Lane Cemetery, StockportDuties include (but are not limited to) * Excavate graves to the appropriate depth and dimensions using a mechanical excavator or hand tools * Maintain cemetery grounds, including landscaping and irrigation systems * Mechanical knowledge for equipment operation and maintenanceRequirements/Experience/Skills * Previous grave digging experience desirable. * Grounds maintenance experience desirable. * Machine excavation, hand excavation, backfilling excavation. * Physical ability to carry out lifting, handling and hand excavation. * Ability to work to timescales, sometimes under pressure & be able to follow instructions. * Familiarity with installation of excavation shoring & all H&S implications. * Previous experience of using a mechanical excavators. * Experience of using site dumpers (1 tonne). * To work in adverse weather conditions as necessary. * Driving licence desirable. * People skills - You will be empathetic and sensitive towards the visitors to the cemetery that you may come into contact with. * The ideal candidate will have previous experience of using a mechanical excavators, mini diggers and site dumpers, however, on-site training will be given.All our roles may be subject to pre-employment checks including references.To apply for this position, please submit your online application form through CV Library and ensure you highlight the experience and skills which relate to the role.Please note - due to the number of applications we receive we are only able to contact those candidates that are successfully shortlisted for the position.
