Opportunity:

We are seeking a dynamic Head of Accounting and Finance to join our leadership team. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced finance professional with a keen interest in agricultural value chains, project development and trading. This role would be ideal for someone with a strong interest in social impact, as you will be directly contributing to initiatives that tangibly and sustainably improve farmer livelihoods.

Responsibilities :

Financial Leadership:

- Oversee all cash management, investments, insurance, budgeting, and financial reporting, driving the company’s financial strategy.

- Develop and implement financial policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and mitigate financial risks.

Cash Management:

- Monitor cash flow and liquidity, optimizing working capital to ensure the financial health of the organization.

- Implement effective cash management strategies to support ongoing operations and growth initiatives.

Business and Finance Systems:

- Oversee the organization’s business systems, including financial software, reporting tools, and other technology platforms.

- Ensure the efficiency, reliability, and security of business systems, identifying opportunities for process improvement.

- Supervise financial activities associated with human resources, such as payroll.

Financial Planning and Analysis:

- Establish and manage regular reporting cycles, including budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.

- Provide insightful financial analysis to support decision-making processes.

Regulatory Compliance:

- Maintain a thorough understanding of international financial regulations, including the UK regulatory reporting framework.

Raising Capital and Fuelling Growth:

- Develop financial models and projections to support fundraising initiatives.

- Engage with investors and financial institutions to secure funding for the company's growth through debt/equity.

- Identify and evaluate attractive M&A opportunities for accelerated growth.

Line Management Responsibilities:

- Lead and mentor a high-performing accounting team, fostering a collaborative and results-driven culture.

- Provide guidance, training, and professional development opportunities to enhance the team's skills and capabilities.

Qualifications:

- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.

- ACCA/ACA/CIMA/CFA qualifications are strongly desired.

- Proven experience in a finance/accounting leadership role.

- Experience in a start-up environment is preferred.

- Fluency in English.

- Advanced proficiency in financial modelling and analysis.

- Knowledge of the UK regulatory reporting framework.

- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
