We are seeking an exceptional Head of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to lead our dynamic MFL department from September.

The successful candidate will be an inspiring leader with a passion for languages education, capable of driving excellence in teaching and learning across Key Stages 3, 4, and 5.

Key Responsibilities:Provide strategic leadership and vision for the MFL department, inspiring colleagues to deliver outstanding language education.

Lead curriculum development and innovation, ensuring that schemes of work are engaging, relevant, and aligned with national standards.

Monitor and evaluate the quality of teaching and learning within the department, providing support and guidance to colleagues to facilitate continuous improvement.

Foster a culture of collaboration and professional development within the department, promoting sharing of best practices and ongoing training opportunities.

Oversee the assessment and tracking of student progress, implementing intervention strategies to support the achievement of all learners.

Qualifications and Experience:Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and relevant teaching qualification.

A degree in a Modern Foreign Language or related field is essential, with strong subject knowledge across at least one language (e.

g.

, French or Spanish).

Proven experience of teaching MFL at Key Stages 3, 4, and ideally 5, with a track record of achieving excellent outcomes for students.

Leadership experience within a languages department or similar educational setting, with the ability to inspire and motivate colleagues.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
