This role will be mainly working from home with travel 1-2 days per week (potentially including an overnight stay). We cover locations across England, Wales and Northern Ireland.In this role you will:Undertake health and safety related activities with a focus on reducing incidents through a proactive practice approachUnder the direction of the Health and Safety advisor and Head of Health and Safety, they will promote good health and safety practice across the organisation.Undertake policy and procedural audits to support our services to achieve Health and Safety compliance.Identify areas for improvement and with guidance from qualified Health and Safety professionals, identify and monitor actions to drive improvement.Produce reports to support management of Health and Safety Compliance.Proactively support any events requiring an immediate response such as fact finds, investigations or internal case reviews.Collaborate and work with Quality Co-Ordinators and local Service Managers We are looking for someone who:has experience of working in a role that has a focus on Health and Safety, ideally within Health and Social Care or Propertyis a great communicator and enjoys working with all stakeholdershas evidence of current Health and Safety training – IOSH or NEBOSH qualifications are desirable but not essentialis credible, trustworthy and wanting to join an organisation in a role where they can grow and developIf you’re ready to make a difference, please get in touch today by providing an up-to-date bespoke CV that demonstrates all your relevant skills and experience. At Mencap, we value a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we intentionally plan for the success of our colleagues in everything we do.
