Our client delivers Adult Weight Management Services commissioned by Dudley Council and they have a great opportunity for a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor to join their team. A full job specification will be sent to you on application.About the roleThis transformative service seeks to work collaboratively with communities to support transforming services for the local population, providing integrated behaviour support for weight management. As a Healthy Lifestyle Advisor, responsibilities include:Delivering weight management programmes including nutrition, behaviour change and exercise to groups through one-to-one’s, in the community and digital methods such as Zoom / phone appointmentsDelivering programmes with a client-centred approach using skills of positive psychology and motivational interviewing and monitoring client's progress through regular consultation Working with clients and stakeholders to co-produce in-session materialsContributing to the contract performance report by submitting regular case studies to the project leadKeeping detailed files, recording data accurately, ensuring all forms and other documentation is completed correctlyBuild community links and partnerships working to encourage new referrals into the service and maintain close working relationships with other community servicesPresent service and referral pathway information at stakeholder meetings Organising own workload in order of priority and deadline datesDelivering NHS Health Checks and Healthy Eating WorkshopsAbout the remunerationFor the role of Healthy Lifestyle Advisor, there is a salary on offer of £22,308 per annum and you will work 37.5 hours per week, including evening work and some weekend cover.About youThe ideal candidate for the role of Healthy Lifestyle Advisor will have / be:Passionate about promoting healthy lifestyles and delivering client-centred motivational changeA background in nutrition, exercise, health improvement, adult and/or family weight management An excellent team player with a willingness to learn and developAble to travel independently across DudleyWork flexibly and adapt to suit service need including evening and occasional weekend work as requiredMust be willing to undertake an Enhanced DBS checkQualifications and experience requiredEducated to degree level or relevant equivalent experienceWorking with Adults or Children and Young People and facilitating 1:1 and group workshops in an age-appropriate and engaging mannerDelivering groups and/or one-to-one behaviour changeDelivering health promotion / public health interventions in community settingsCIMSPA (previously REPS) qualified Level 2 Gym instructor/Group exercise award or equivalentRegistration with CIMSPA (this can be obtained within 6 months of employment)Working with hard to reach groups and tackling health inequalitiesWorking within a multi-disciplinary teamPrevious paid or voluntary experience working with peopleBuilding professional relationshipsSkills & KnowledgeExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build rapport quickly with peopleExcellent administration, record keeping and data collection skillsIT literate, preferably with experience using Microsoft Office Strong time management and organisational skillsHigh attention to detailPro-active approach and ability to work on own initiativeAbility to manage stressful situations and cope in a fast-paced work environmentCan cope with unpredictable work patterns and work well under pressureAble to work as part of a team and independentlyAbout the companyOur client is an exciting, fast-paced, growing community health organisation.
