Are you an experienced Plumber, multi-skilled in plumbing, maintenance, and repairs?Do you hold a valid driver’s license, and a willingness to operate Trust vehicles?Can you carry out plumbing and fitting maintenance repairs, planned inspections and improvements to our clients Trusts buildings and other agencies in Chester?Are you willing and able to respond to emergency calls if necessary?Can you commence employment immediately or within 1 week if successful, in Chester?Your World Recruitment are currently supporting a Healthcare organisation based in Chester with the recruitment of a Maintenance Plumber required to carry out plumbing and fitting maintenance repairs, planned inspections and improvements to healthcare buildings and other agencies daily within Chester.Job Title: Maintenance PlumberLocation: ChesterJob Type: TemporaryDuration of booking: This is expected to be on a temporary ongoing basis, with no end date yet specified.Proposed start date: ASAPSector: HealthcareBase: HospitalPay Rates:£12.82 – 13.50 PAYE inclusive£14.59 - £15.50 UmbrellaDepending on skill, experience, and qualificationsWorking Days and Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm (37.5 hours per week) and where required, you'll be expected to carry out an out of hour’s emergency on-call service.Travel Required: Exception to carry out on-call emergency support outside of regular hours if necessary.Driving Licence Required: Yes, and willingness to operate Trust vehicles.Overview:Maintain, fault find, and repair interconnected, complex distribution and drainage systems, including associated plant equipment and steam generation plants.Inspect, repair, and maintain the gas distribution system, plant, and related equipment.Work as part of a multi-skilled team, providing standard service hours (37.5 hours/week, Monday to Friday) and on-call emergency support outside of regular hours if necessary.Operate Trust vehicles as needed.Key Responsibilities: * Perform all tasks safely, adhering to safety regulations and Health & Safety Procedures. * Execute a variety of tasks across different trades as per the Estates Department's Multi-Skilling Agreement. * Carry a mobile smartphone to respond to emergencies and daily tasks via the Labour Management System. * Participate in the Estates Operational Forum to ensure efficient departmental operations. * Conduct job-specific risk assessments and contribute to the departmental risk register. * Engage in training to enhance skills and comply with our clients Trust's core training requirements. * Instruct others in aspects of their work related to trade-related tasks. * Participate if required, in the on-call rota for emergency out-of-hours work. * Perform maintenance, repair, fault-finding, and periodic inspections of hot/cold water and drainage systems, including unblocking drains. * Maintain, repair, and test domestic and commercial gas installations and equipment, requiring Gas Safe registration. * Set out and complete the new works on water systems, drainage, and gas installations. * Work independently, interpreting instructions, drawings, and specifications. * Safely work at heights and in confined, often humid spaces. * Coordinate with contractors and inspect their work to authorize payments. * Attend required training courses and complete mandatory training provided by our client’s healthcare organisation.Skills, Qualifications, and ExperienceCertifications and QualificationsHold a City & Guilds Level 3 Advanced Technical Craft Certificate or equivalent (NVQ 3, BTEC National, ONC/OND) certifications.Have completed a recognised Plumbing apprenticeship.Preferably (not essential) hold a certificate for commercial and domestic gas (Gas Safe registration) and have carried out Health & Safety, Manual Handling, and Working at Heights training.Knowledge and ExpertiseBe experienced with water and drainage systems.Be able to perform tasks across multiple trades and learn new techniques.Have a good understanding of current water and drainage installation legislation, especially regarding legionella.Be experienced operating and maintaining commercial and domestic gas plants and equipment.Personal SkillsBe able to perform physical tasks, investigations, and repairs.Have clear written and verbal communication skills, and be able to liaise with colleagues, staff, and patients.Be able to plan and manage ongoing maintenance and installation activities.Be able to work both independently and as part of a team.Be able to work in a customer-focused environment.Have a Valid UK driving license (Group A) and access to a vehicle for work purposes.Have proficient with basic computer skills
