Management Accountant in Eckington

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working with a growing and successful SME in Sheffield as they look to bring a new Management Accountant into the team.

The Management Accountant will play a crucial role in supporting the Financial Controller with the day to day running of the finance department including overseeing the financial transactions as well as payroll.

You will also work closely with operation stakeholders to help manage budgets and forecasts, track performance and KPIs as well as providing financial insights and analysis to the management team.

Key Responsibilities will include:Prepare monthly management accounts, including profit and loss statements and balance sheetsCash flow forecastingOwnership of cost of sales analysis/ reportingProduce variance analysis and commentary on financial performance, highlighting key trends and issuesProvide detailed financial analysis to support business decisions, including pricing strategies, investment appraisals and project evaluationsAssist in the development and maintenance of financial models to aid long term business objectivesAssist in the preparation of annual budgets and quarterly forecastsMonitor and report on budget performance, identifying areas of concern and recommending corrective actionsAnalyze cost structures and identify opportunities for cost reduction and efficiency improvementsAssist the project accountant in ad-hoc projects, new business cases and initiativesWeekly KPI reportingMaintaining fixed asset register (inc.

depreciation)Working collaboratively with operational stakeholders across the businessManaging budgets and forecasts with departmentsGather financial data and ensure alignment with overall business objectivesPresent financial information and insights to senior management and stakeholders in a clear and concise mannerProcessing company payrollCollating timesheet dataOverseeing transactions across both accounts payable and accounts receivableProcessing journalsAccruals and prepayments VAT and bank reconciliationsIntrastat/ EU reportingForeign exchange reportingEnsure robust financial controls are in place and adhered to, in line with company policies and regulatory requirementsAssist in internal and external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanationsAlways striving to find better ways of doing things for better efficiencies/ driving continuous improvementQualifications and Experience:Professional accounting qualification (e.
