Management Accountant in Newcastle upon Tyne

Jackson Hogg is delighted to be supporting a leading Accountancy Practice on the appointment of an Accounts Manager.

The key responsibilities of the role are: * Support leading and provide guidance within a small team.

* Manage a portfolio of clients and deliver high quality accounts service, including preparing and reviewing year end accounts.

* Plan staffing and resource for delivery assignments with the service line.

* Ensure timely delivery of services and meet deadlines by managing workflow, billing, and delegating tasks appropriately.

* Develop and expand on the existing and new client relationships with the key decision makers, and the wider team.

* Maintain daily communication with clients, addressing queries and providing expert advice.

* Manage the progress of jobs, ensure that budgets are met, address any problems that are encountered to ensure that the accounts are finished within budget and in a timely manner * Review of VAT returns for clients * Review of management accounts, management information and complimentary data, sense checking the output, removing inconsistencies, identifying trends and providing insightful commentary to clients * Preparation of year end accounts for some of the service line’s larger clients.

The key attributes that we will look for are: * Qualified Accountant, or qualified by experience, with a solid background in UK accounting practices.

* Excellent communication – both written and oral, with an ability to deal with a variety of people in different environments * Excellent accounts preparation skills * Organisational skills are essential – able to work within a team, handle pressure, manage multiple assignments without missing deadlines, but overall exceed expectations * Have a passion for what you do * Experience working with MS Excel and Word and if possible, CCH accounts production and Xero * Previous supervisory experience preferred.

* Salary depending upon experience and qualification – Qualified AAT, Part or fully qualified ACA or ACCA
