On behalf of LUDLOW FARMSHOP

Managing Director

Competitive salary and benefits, including option for accommodation on the Estate

We seek a dynamic, entrepreneurial and hands-on Managing Director with the commercial acumen, strategic vision and natural leadership to lead Ludlow Farmshop through its next stage of growth.

Ludlow Food Centre, trading as Ludlow Farmshop, is an ambitious speciality food retail, food production, restaurant and hospitality business with an innovative model. We believe in the simple pleasure of better tasting, real food and in making it accessible to all. Our philosophy is practical invention, keeping skills and flavours alive and making the most of our region. Set in the beautiful Shropshire countryside and benefitting from a convenient location on the busy A49 trunk road and an abundance of quality produce as part of the Earl of Plymouth’s Oakly Park Estate, we have achieved substantial growth in recent years and there is significant potential and ambition to develop further as a compelling visitor destination with the Farmshop at its heart.

Multi award-winning and consistently recognised for our produce and visitor experience – including awards from Trip Advisor, the Farmshop & Deli Awards and Rural Business Awards – we have earned a reputation for delivering the highest quality speciality fine food, with a passion for locally sourced produce; 50% of the food retailed is produced on the premises and 80% sourced locally. Behind a striking exterior lies a visually high-impact layout, with a light and spacious food hall encircled by glass fronted production kitchens. The business is diverse, also incorporating conference facilities, Artists’ gallery, Ludlow Kitchen (a 160-seater café), The Clive Hotel & Restaurant and Ludlow Pantry (a takeaway unit). In addition, we’re home to the Ludlow Distillery (award-winning distillers of gin, vodka and whiskey) and a new gift shop is due to open this Summer.

The Managing Director will direct and control the business operations, giving strategic guidance and direction to the Board whilst leading the team, driving the brand and site to unlock its full potential and maximise return on investment. A passion for the highest levels of food quality and service delivery will be essential, along with a track record of achievement and experience leading multi-faceted operations in the premium food retail, venue or hospitality sectors.

In return we offer a competitive salary and benefits (including option for housing) and the opportunity to make a significant impact as the leader of an entrepreneurial, well-known and highly respected organisation.
