Manufacturing Test Engineer in UK

BMAC UK Ltd., a Methode Electronics company, has been developing vehicle lighting technology for 90 years and is now one of the leading UK based manufacturers of exterior and interior lighting and associated electrical equipment for both the road and rail sectors.

You will be expected to carry out a wide range of duties related to production test and diagnostic requirements including but not necessarily limited to the following.

What will you do:

• Fault finding and repair of production equipment and returned products.
• Design and build custom test fixtures for new product development and routine manufacture liaising with the Engineering team
• Routine maintenance of production and testing equipment.
• Support where required in test set up of manufactured products.
• Support with investigation/repair of returned products may be required.
• Regular statistical analysis of returned product data and creation of reports and associated improvement plans.
• Design and build (in house or sub contracted) of custom test fixtures.
• Review and scrutiny of test specifications, provision of feedback to design engineers.
• Attendance at new product design reviews.
• To perform any other duties in the Supply Chain/Production Control/Purchasing Area which may be requested by the Head of the Department.

What you need:

• Proficiency in utilizing electronic test equipment : multi-meters, power suppliers, HV testers, oscilloscopes, among others.
• Possession of a formal NVQ, HND or BTEC in Electronics.
• A demonstrable background in Electronics testing and diagnostics.
• CAD and PCB design.
