Job specifications:Perform Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI) on castings and welds according to established procedures and specificationsSet up, calibrate, and operate testing equipment to ensure accurate and reliable resultsInterpret and evaluate testing results to identify defects, discontinuities, or irregularitiesDocument testing procedures, results, and observations in accordance with company and regulatory standardsAdhere to safety protocols and regulations during testing procedures to ensure the well-being of personnel and equipmentCollaborate with engineering and quality assurance teams to analyse testing results and recommend corrective actions if necessaryMaintain testing equipment, ensuring proper functioning and calibrationParticipate in the development and improvement of NDE techniques and proceduresStay updated with advancements in NDE technology, industry standards, and UK regulationsProvide training and guidance to junior technicians as neededNecessary qualifications/skills/experience:Certification to SNT-TC-1A Level 2 in Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI)Certification to ISO 9712 Level 2 in Liquid Penetrant Inspection (LPI) and Magnetic Particle Inspection (MPI), recognized in the UKProven experience in performing LPI and MPI in an industrial settingStrong understanding of NDE principles, techniques, and proceduresPhysical ability to perform testing duties, including working in confined spaces or at heightsWillingness to undergo additional training and certifications as required by the company or regulatory authoritiesIf you are a NDE Technician in Ipswich or the surrounding areas and are interested in applying for this role but want to know more about the company and culture, why not give Mitchell a call at Prime Appointments.
