Operations Manager (FTC)

Do you have extensive experience of leading a food production facility?

Are you skilled in leading teams within a fast-paced manufacturing environment?

Are you experienced in working through business culture changes whilst driving manufacturing efficiencies?

MacGregor Black are partnering with an FMCG business on the search for an Operations Manager. This is an 18-month FTC role based in Liverpool.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for driving site Health and Safety (H&S) policy to follow company & statutory regulations & guidelines
  • Accountable for delivering departmental quality improvement plans achieving continual improvement
  • Accountable for mentoring, developing and leading team members to deliver continuously improving operating performance and conformance to plan.
  • Responsible for developing and delivering area Productivity programme, offsetting inflation and achieving departmental cost reduction in line with Budget targets.
  • Facilitate the creation of a dynamic performance orientated culture with aligned and motivated people, ensuring that recognition and financial rewards are clearly linked to measurable performance at all levels
  • Build a performance climate where people expect to be held accountable for delivery of their commitments
  • Responsible for the motivation of your team, for leading, mentoring and performance management, to ensure skill and proficiency levels are maintained
  • Ensure that all manufacturing metrics are well defined, understood by all and achieved
  • To set high standards and lead by example to facilitate continuous improvement ( ie 14 Step Kaizen projects) in cost base and critical metrics utilising lean manufacturing techniques

What are we looking for?

  • Proven manufacturing experience and strong analytical skills
  • Managing people in a change environment
  • Experience of working in a cross functional team using LEAN tools and techniques
  • Strong communicator and natural motivator
  • Experience of operating in a FMCG organisation
  • Project Management skills
  • The ability to handle multiple workstreams, whilst being able to effectively prioritise to ensure KPI’s and targets are successfully achieved.
  • Specific experience of managing continuous improvement processes
  • Previous budget management experience
