Payroll Officer in Redhill

Payroll Officer Reports to: Finance Operations Manager Location: Redhill, Surrey Salary: Up to £35,000 + Benefits Type: 37 hours per weekDovetail and Slate are recruiting on behalf of a leading education provider based in Redhill, Surrey. Please note: This role is on-site (not hybrid/remote) Main Duties Ensure accurate calculation, recording, and processing of staff payments, including authorizations, tax, and NI deductions, and distribute payslips per the monthly payroll timetable. Complete and submit statutory returns (PAYE, NI, pensions) on time, and ensure accurate payments on behalf of institutions (HMRC, pension schemes). Assist with queries on gross pay, tax, pensions, and maintain payroll system data accuracy. Manage contracts and payments for hourly staff, process sessional claims timely, and handle year-end tax and pension procedures, including issuing P60s and P11Ds. Monitor and reconcile payroll data, including pay costs and staff absences, ensuring compliance with financial guidelines.
