Our platform provides customers with the tools and insights they need to understand organic SEO performance and to identify ways to grow their businesses .

The role

We’re hiring a software engineer to work on our successful search intelligence platform.

You’ll join a fantastic team, driving forward a product used by high-profile global brands.

As a large-scale, big data application, we think our mission is more exciting than a typical PHP project.

You’ll work alongside experienced engineers within a small team where you’ll have genuine influence from day one. 

You’ll join our Platform team, connecting to external services and providing data processing capabilities to support the work of our Product Development team.

You’ll get exposure to a variety of AWS Services all joined together by a modern OOP PHP codebase.

We have some great benchmarking and profiling tools you’ll be using to optimise your code ro help us scale  ever higher.

Day to day:

• Optimising and scaling up the cloud data processing code that powers our platform.
• Expanding platform services with new functionality to support our product development roadmap
• Maintaining the high standards of our codebase and reviewing the work of your peers

You

While relevant experience is great, we’re really looking for the right person - someone who’s bright, proactive, learns rapidly and shares our vision for clean, well-architected software.

You will be passionate about the art of software - you keep track of the latest industry trends, technologies and practices and know when’s the right time to put them to work.

You know how to collaborate to get things done without creating technical debt.

Above all, you love creating well-structured, maintainable code.

You’re a great communicator who loves working in a collaborative and supportive environment and you have the energy and enthusiasm to help us become a world-class engineering team. 

Absolutes

• Familiarity with modern, object-oriented programming in PHP 8
• Experience working with SQL databases
• We get together in our office in central Brighton on Wednesdays and you’ll be there too

Nice-to-haves

• PSR standards
• Use of cloud infrastructure, especially Serverless / AWS Lambda
• Experience working within an agile team using Linux, Git, docker,  continuous integration, and automated  testing
