30PMLong-Term Full-time with the potential to become permanentAbout the School: Supply Desk are working with a welcoming and supportive primary school in the heart of Southampton who wish to appoint a committed and ambitious Year 1 Class teacher to teach Key Stage 1 as a part of their excellent team.

About the role:The role will be full time covering all areas in Key Stage 1 with time allowed for planning and marking.

The school are looking for someone with excellent subject knowledge for all areas, good classroom management and a really positive approach to teaching and building relationships with pupils and parents Key functions of the role:To implement and deliver an appropriate, balanced and differentiated curriculum for all pupils incorporating the National CurriculumTo plan and teach phonics using “Little Wandle”.

To facilitate, support and monitor the overall progress and development of all studentsTo foster a learning environment which provides pupils with the opportunity to fulfil their individual potentialTo share in the development of the school curriculum, teaching materials, methods of teaching and assessment and reviewResponsibilities:To teach pupils according to their educational needs, including setting, marking and assessment of workIdentify clear teaching objectives and content, appropriate to the subject and pupils being taught and specify how they will be taught and assessedSetting high expectations of pupils’ learning, motivation and presentation of workSetting clear targets for pupils’ learning with which they agree and understandTo direct and supervise Teaching Assistants within the classroomTo cooperate and liaise with other professionals, including colleagues and external agenciesTo set high expectations in terms of behaviour and maintain a good standard of discipline through well focused teaching methods and implementing the school behaviour policyYou will be a Primary trained teacher who holds QTS and has experience of teaching in the UK, ECTs are welcome to apply.
