The Role

Lancaster City Council is looking to recruit a temporary Procurement Manager.

This is a great opportunity to help shape all the procurement functions of the Council by ensuring proper procedures and practices are in place that help the Council achieve its priorities.

The role will involve:

  • Assisting the Chief Officer Governance in the provision of a comprehensive legal service to the Council, its Cabinet, Committees and Officers
  • Developing, co-ordinating and implementing the Council’s Corporate Procurement Strategy to assist the Council in achieving its objectives, and to lead and manage the provision of associated central support to develop corporate capacity and expertise in procurement.

This is a 16-month Maternity cover post.

The hours of work for this position are 29.

6 per week, working from Lancaster Town Hall with the option for hybrid working dependant on service needs, but also from any other locations as required.

The Council currently operates an excellent Flexible Working Hours Scheme which applies to this post.

Subject to the needs of this business, this may allow employees to work between the hours of 6:00am-10:30pm.
