Quality Manager required to support company-wide business objectives leading change in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This key new person will be responsible for the organisation, management and control of Quality Management Systems and Processes to drive improvements in compliance with international and customer standards. They will be the technical lead of the

Quality Assurance function to ensure the maintenance and enhancement of the product and processing performance of the business.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Proactively engage with driving safety culture by:

  • •Participating in site safety processes and leading indicators such as pre-task risk assessments, Gemba Walks, Task Observations

    •Generating preventative hazard spots, and ensuring all opportunities raised are driven to conclusion.

  • Subject Matter Expert for Alkegen’s Quality Management System

  • Ensure nonconformances are fully investigated and corrective / preventive actions are implemented using recognised problem-solving techniques e.g. 8D.

  • Promoting, developing, and implementing quality and continuous improvement through the organisation.

  • Management of the Quality Department personnel

  • Process management of:

  • •Internal audit process

    •Management of Change

    •New Product Introduction

    •Measurement systems including calibration and production lab.

    •Document control

  • KPI reporting to all levels of the business.

  • Supporting processes to development new products.

  • External audit lead including site IATF annual audits and Customer audits.

  • The successful candidate will bring:

  • Detailed experience and understanding of the automotive industry.

  • ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 management systems (ISO14001 advantageous)

  • IATF 16949 Internal Auditor certified (IATF 16949 Lead Auditor certified advantageous)

  • A working knowledge of quality systems compliance to VDA / Customer Specific Requirements.

  • Core Tool experience including APQP, PPAP, FMEA, Control Plans etc.

  • Knowledge of problem-solving techniques and experience in leading problem-solving teams.

  • Technical knowledge and experience of production capability, manufacturing processes, fault detection and rectification, quality and process control in a customer focused environment.

  • Proficient ability to quickly learn the use of enterprise / business tools and PC applications.

  • Proven track record of driving continuous quality improvement in a manufacturing environment.

  • Supplier & Customer Quality assurance experience

  • Ability to interpret, technical standards, technical drawings and specifications with a good understanding of lab testing and other measurement considerations.

  • Management skills (interpersonal skills)

  • Organisational skills - ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritises matters of competing importance, and effectively uses available resources to meet time constraints.

  • Strategic, innovative, and analytical thinking

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, especially in the realm of process documentation writing.

  • The ability to influence others, present effective influence, and prompt others to act in a positive productive manner.
