RESIDENTIAL CHILDCARE WORKER (RCP)LockerbieFull Time, Permanent (40 hours)£31,500 - £34,000About the role:You will be part of an amazing team who will drive and work with Care Practitioners to encourage positive practice and also you will have the opportunity to shape the practice of the Service.This client provides a positive and inclusive environment for young people and believe it's the little things that make an difference. Their primary aim is to create an environment of constant warmth, predictability, and responsiveness to need, with the opportunity for young people to experience new models of adult/child and peer group relationships. They believe that, in these new relationships, young people can experience conflict with positive rather than negative resolutions.Shift Pattern and Rota:We have an amazing client who is currently looking for permanent, full-time (40 hours) RCP. Within this role you will be working 14-hour shifts always followed by a sleepover on a pattern of 2 days on & 3 days off.Benefits:29 days annual leaveFree trainingRoom for developmentOvertime rates at time and a halfHalf of your sleep rate is paid - even when on annual leave!EAP & wellbeing supportKey Responsibilities:To contribute to the assessment process for young people and be involved with on-going support programmes in conjunction with other key employeesEnsure positive support to children and young people when they are concerned or distressedAttend planning and review meetings where appropriateMake sure relevant reports are kept in addition to appropriate record keeping information collection and exchangeImplement de-escalation and physical intervention strategies as necessary and appropriate in line with mandatory trainingPromote young people's participation, to ensuring young people are actively involved in the environment and day to day activities of the homeTo comply with the code of conduct as require by the SSSCTo be fully aware of safeguarding and child protection issuesTo understand the reporting process of child protection within the homeUnderstand the principals of safeguarding young people, staff, and selfHave a full understanding of the emergency call out procedures of the housePromote structure, boundaries, and domestic routines within the houseParticipate in, and complete records for statutory reviews and meetings concerning the young people were requiredUndertake relevant training programmes as required by the Company, SSSC & National CareThe Ideal Applicant:SVQ 3 & HNC in Social Care or willing to work towardsAppropriate Registration with the SSSC must be completed within 4-6 months of start commencing in the post, if you are not already registered and must be renewed annuallyPVG must be suppliedExperience of working within services of young people, at least 1 yearWide knowledge of the behaviours displayed by children and young people and an understanding of a myriad of intervention strategiesAwareness of legislation in relation to childcare including Health and Social Care standards 2018Understanding the principles of safeguarding and child protectionPromote the health, safety and well-being of children, young people, and staffAbility to work shifts including evening and weekendsFull UK driving licenceThis role is a full time role, permanent contract of Employment, any candidate who applies, must be able to work the hours, and shift pattern listed above.If this role sounds of interest, please do not delay in applying!Randstad Care acts as an employment business when supplying temporary staff and as an employment agency when introducing candidates for permanent employment with a client.
