Risk and Compliance Manager – Edinburgh – 40-45k

A leading legal firm is looking to bring on a Risk and Compliance Manager into a newly created role.

The successful candidate will lead an existing team, reporting into the head of Risk and Compliance, and take ownership for daily running of operational compliance.

What will the day-to-day look like?

• Reporting to the head of risk and compliance, developing and implementing a compliance strategy across the firm
• overseeing and managing a small team on a day to day basis
• Providing support across maintenance and implementation of risk management strategy including new and emerging risks
• Promoting and fostering a culture of compliance across the business as a whole
• Ensuring compliance is adhered to across the firm and guidelines are clear to all stakeholders at all levels
• Working to ensure all statutory and regulatory obligations are adhered to and in line with all relevant bodies
• Ensuring effective quality control is in place and any relevant efficiency improvements are made

What experience is needed?

• Strong experience in a risk and compliance environment
• A background in leading or supervising a compliance team
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Clear commercial awareness in a risk setting
• A strong understanding of risk and compliance regulations and principles within a professional or financial services environment
