We are looking to add a Safety Case consultant to our team!

RESPONSIBILITIES :

Responsibilities will include:

  • Developing and present robust and reasoned arguments in a rational and coherent manner.
  • Development and maintenance of the safety case.
  • Be responsible for the maintenance of the safety cases supporting normal operations and fault scenarios during the generation and defueling phases of operation.
  • Provide technical leadership in resolving challenging issues to support the construction, commissioning and the safe operation of the Nuclear Power Plant.
  • Provide technical leadership to define and deliver safety case requirements to ensure compliance within a regulated environment.
  • Coordinate and negotiate with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Provide safety justifications to support modifications.
  • Delivering consultancy that meets, and exceeds the expectations of the client, in regard to technical excellence and the quality of deliverables.
  • Managing this work (in the form of small to medium sized projects) either as a project or technical lead.
  • Delivering the work within budget and to the agreed programme whilst keeping track of the project (all aspects).
  • Liaising with all concerned of both technical and commercial progress.
  • Developing skills in growing projects.

BACKGROUND AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

  • Previous experience working within the Nuclear industry
  • Understanding of the safety case production process and methodologies
  • Familiarity with areas such as decommissioning, optioneering, best practice, human factors, radioactive materials transport, licensing/de-licensing, radioactive waste
  • A Degree or equivalent in engineering, science or related field of study.
