SEN Learning Support Assistant – UES1Location: BerkhamsteadJob Type: Full-time or part-time availableStart Date: ASAP/SeptemberSalary in line with experience: £85 - £110 per day!

Position Overview:As an SEN Teaching Assistant you will have the opportunity to work closely with a diverse group of students with complex needs, including physical disabilities, learning difficulties, and medical conditions.

You will play a vital role in providing personalised support and assistance to students, both inside and outside the classroom, to ensure their inclusion and participation in all aspects of school life.

Responsibilities:· Provide one-to-one and small group support to students with complex and severe needs, assisting them with their learning, personal care, and mobility as required.

· Assist in the implementation of behaviour management strategies, under the guidance of teaching staff and other professionals.

· Support students in accessing the curriculum and participating in classroom activities, adapting materials and resources as necessary to meet their diverse needs.

· Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their social, emotional, and cognitive development through meaningful engagement and interaction.

· Collaborate with teachers, therapists, and other support staff to create a nurturing and inclusive learning environment that celebrates diversity and encourages student success.

· Maintain accurate records of student progress, behaviour, and achievements, and communicate effectively with colleagues, parents, and external agencies as required.

Requirements: * Previous experience working with students with special educational needs, preferably in a school or similar setting.

* Understanding of a range of complex needs, including physical disabilities, sensory impairments, communication difficulties, and medical conditions.

* Compassionate and patient approach, with the ability to build trusting relationships and adapt support strategies to meet individual student needs.

* Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.

* Commitment to promoting inclusion, equality, and diversity in education.

* Relevant qualifications or willingness to undergo training in areas such as safeguarding and first aid.

The personThe school will accept applications from candidates that have: * Relevant knowledge and experience of pupils with ASD, SEMH, Complex Needs and PMLD.

* Experience providing Personal Care within a SEN Environment.

* Experience supporting/working with SEND * Knowledge of SEND and Supporting students with PMLD and Complex Needs * Experience working within a Mainstream setting looking to start or further a career within SEND.
