Robertson Bell are excited to announce their partnership with this fantastic and well know public sector organisation as they go to market for a Senior Finance Officer on a permanent basis.

This role will give you valuable input and oversight of the success and operational side of the organisation’s finance department having an involvements in many different areas whilst gaining valuable experience and exposure.

In this role as Senior Finance Officer you will:

  • Be responsible for setting up new awards and projects on the financial system and internal database.
  • Have a portfolio of different grants and academies to look after where you need monitor them financially and work with stakeholders on their relevant grants, budgets and forecasts and provide reports where required.
  • Be responsible for building and continuing external relationship with suppliers and external stakeholders.
  • Be responsible for the invoicing and auditing of grants and other financial information/material keeping an up to date account ready for audit.
  • Based in Central Oxford, this role requires employees in the office three times per week in the initial stages of the role, once you are trained and competent this role will reduce down to once a week in the office.

    The ideal Senior Finance Officer candidate will:

  • Hold, or working towards, an AAT qualification and aspire to become a fully-qualified ACCA, CIMA or equivalent Accountant.
  • Have an in-depth and all rounded understanding of transactional finance. An understanding of grants would be a big advantage.
  • Work well in a team environment, have good communication skills and be able to liaise with non-finance professionals.
  • Previously managed at least 1 member of staff or coached and nurtured colleagues with a clear understanding of what management would entail and how they would act.
