Senior PHP Developer in Manchester

Senior PHP Developer | Laravel | £55,000- Remote

A SaaS company based in Manchester are currently looking for a UK based senior PHP developer to join on a hybrid basis, leading the development of their greenfield platform using Laravel & Microservices.

Ideally you will be able to visit the Manchester office once every 2 weeks or so.

You will be using PHP and more importantly the Laravel framework to create simple and elegant solutions to complex problems. Their flagship product is a highly scalable platform built in Laravel with a VueJs frontend. Their platform and continuous delivery pipeline is fully automated using CloudFormation & Ansible and they’re in the process of moving their microservices architecture to containers. They have also adopted a fully hosted AWS cloud environment.

You will be joining a passionate, determined and cohesive engineering team dedicated to delivering high quality software and the best possible experience for their customers. Software and technology is at the heart of the business, central to their strategy and pivotal to future growth of the business.

They have been operating as a start-up for the past 3 years, growing from 3 to 23 employees. This role is vital to their expansion into the UK, building out their platform following an aggressive product roadmap.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day:

• Work with our Product Managers, Head of Engineering and CTO to deliver high quality software solutions
• Develop new systems and features and maintain the existing code base
• Be responsible for code quality and implementing best practices
• Make suggestions and implement new technologies to improve our platforms

Requirements

• Deep knowledge and experience of building PHP applications
• Strong Laravel Experience
• VueJs Experience
• Experience in TDD and testing suites for PHP (PHPUnit, Codeception)
• Experience with git, github
• Experience with REST API development
