Senior Planning EngineerLocation: Hybrid, with 2-3 days in BirminghamCompetitive packages and excellent benefits are availableProjects: HVDC, Grid, Offshore Turner Lovell are recruiting for a fast growing international EPC contractor who have a strong pipeline of HVDC, HV-AC and offshore wind projects across the UK and Europe.We are looking for a Senior Project Planning professional with a strong background in HV Transmission & Distribution, to play an active role in project management support of multi-disciplined, multi-sector project delivery work by facilitating the planning, scheduling and controlling processes. Providing advice, support, and clear communication of fact-based answers to key management questions which will aid in intelligent and effective decision making. The ideal candidate will have construction site experience, have advanced knowledge of Primavera 6 and be confident to support contract variation and claims.The successful candidate will be the Lead Planning Engineer with the following expertise:Demonstrable experience in planning major turnkey infrastructure projectsExpert Primavera P6 userKnowledge of risk management processes and toolsExperience managing small teams within a large projectKnowledge of cost control function and interface with schedule on large turnkey projectsGood level of relevant industry knowledge within the Renewable Energy / Power Generation sectorKnowledge in applying forensic analysis on large turnkey projectsThis role would see you working on the following:Building the project baseline gaining approval of client and internal stakeholdersMaintaining project schedule and resource forecasts throughout the project lifecyclesAnalysing schedule and trends and communicates forecasted schedule risk to project team, drive risk mitigation proposalsMaintaining a register of potential schedule and cost risks in collaboration with the Risk ManagerChecking and controls schedule movements, comparing with current scope and progress as well as with previous forecast. Also comparing with productivity factors and validating accuracy of future task durationsEnsuring that forecast task durations and logic are understood and committed by the task ownersProducing and communicating internal and external project reporting of project statusLeading collaboration with 3rd parties on project schedule interfaces including maintenance of an interface registerPresenting all time schedule data in a transparent way, attending project and management reviews to present schedule statusProviding time related calculations to ensure change order schedule / cost estimates are accurateAligning with Cost Controller to ensure reconciliation between P6 schedule and approved cost phasingLeading the team of Project Planning Engineers on large and complex projectsTaking full responsibility for the planning output for the assigned project(s) as part of the project controls functionLeading collaboration with functional task and resource owners to find strategies to reduce durations and manhoursEnsuring efficiency and effectiveness of the project controls teamThis is an excellent opportunity to be at the forefront of renewable energy, HVDC and HV infrastructure projects, have clear career growth potential and job security working on high project.If this sounds like it could be your next challenge, working on large-scale energy transmission project and you are available ASAP, please apply or contact or Yana Arif ((url removed)) / (phone number removed) for further information
