Senior Project Engineer in Northampton

H9 Technical Recruitment are partnered with the UK's leading renewable energy generator of low carbon power, to identify an experienced Senior Project Engineer in a new exciting role tasked with technical delivery on projects and identifying new technologies that will help the company to grow and diversify our existing portfolio and to generate new revenue streams from our existing sites.Role & ResponsibilitiesLead the project and engineering activities from inception, feasibility, design, and execution whilst meeting challenging obstacles that include timescale and budget constraints. Ideally you will have power generation industry experience.Act as lead on complex and non-routine projects, ensuring an appropriate level of upfront diligence is applied.You will be visible on-site, focused on project execution and technology development. You will also maintain relationships with key internal and external stakeholders.Lead on operational optimisation and the advancement of new technologies covering concept evaluation, feasibility studies, if successful taking through to a pilot projectEngage with technology suppliers and users to develop opportunitiesWork with the Project Development team and Operations to identify and support the base business in optimisation opportunities and manage routine projectsEnsure scoping of projects takes a lean approach and appropriate challenge is maintainedWork closely with the Programme Manager to develop project pipelines with a minimum 12-month view being maintainedMaintain effective communication with all external stakeholders and the project team, and prepare and present progress reports to senior management teamConsult with relevant stakeholders to ensure that standards are clear, and progress is maintainedBe accountable for all progress and successful execution of project(s) within predetermined time frames, whilst achieving the quality, performance, and financial measures Skills & Qualifications HND/HNC or equivalent in an Engineering discipline (ideally Mechanical/Process)Relevant experience in the power generation industry or an industrial engineering sectorProject engineering/management experience with a strong technical backgroundWork to codes of practice and national and international standardsStrong communicator, self-motivated with a positive attitude, with the ability to work on multiple high-profile projects at onceYou are delivery focussed, can think logically and criticallyYou have a desire and enthusiasm for learningFull UK driving licence with flexibility to travel
