Senior Security Engineer in England

What you’ll do:

• Own and deliver the technical controls that help maintain the CIA aspects of CDW UK and International Systems and data.
• A passion for Cyber Security is key and you need to be able to demonstrate an in-depth Knowledge of Security risks, trends, solutions and Managed Security Services available to help organisations reduce risk and improve security maturity
• Collaborating as needed with UK and US functional peers to ensure that security tools and solutions are implemented and operate appropriately
• Research emerging trends and ideas and evaluate new technologies
• Assist with Global CDW initiatives as required.

What you need to succeed:

Respond to, and document, any security threats, resolve technical faults and allocate resources to deliver real solutions in a cost-effective way.

• Understanding complex technical issues and manage them within a fast-paced business environment.
• Identifying current and emerging technology issues including security trends, vulnerabilities and threats
• Conducting proactive research to analyse security weaknesses and recommend appropriate strategies.
• Liaising with vendors to implement security solutions.
• Demonstrate experience of building, maintaining and influencing relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders
• Technical experience with security solutions
• Strong experience in compliance with NIST, PCI and ISO27001
• Experienced in the production and maintenance of Info-sec related documentation, e.g., ISMS and infosec policies.
• Demonstrable ability to Investigate and resolve security related incidents and escalations on bids, projects and BAU.

What you should have:

• Degree and technical background is essential along with security certifications such as CISSP, GISP, and CISM.
• Expertise across a variety of security technologies including firewalls, URL filtering, information security and virus protection.
• The commercial acumen to provide cost-effective security solutions
• An enthusiasm for staying up to date with the very latest updates about security threats and solutions.
• Outstanding communication skills that go beyond “tech talk” – the ability to translate complex IT matters to those without an IT background.
• Strong time management and organisational skills
