We are working with a forward-thinking and innovative company based in Warrington, that is seeking a Lead Software Developer. This role is a unique opportunity for a skilled and experienced developer to establish and guide a dynamic team, driving both technical excellence and innovative software solutions.
Role Overview:
The Lead Software Developer will play a crucial role in shaping the direction of the development team. Responsibilities include leading and mentoring an internal development team, working with external teams when required, and collaborating closely with the Head of Systems and I.T. to develop and implement software strategies. The ideal candidate will be an innovative thinker, with strong leadership skills and expertise in a range of programming languages and methodologies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a small, dynamic development team.
- Collaborate with external on-shore or off-shore development teams as needed.
- Develop a clear software development and DevOps strategy in collaboration with company stakeholders.
- Present innovative software solutions to enhance business operations.
- Implement and promote Agile methodologies within the team.
Desired Skills:
- At least 5 years of experience in commercial software development (Python, PHP, Java, HTML/CSS, JavaScript).
- Strong organizational and communication skills, with a proven track record of leading teams.
- Deep understanding of CI/CD and web-based systems.
- Experience in integrating DevOps and test automation into an organization.
- Proficient in SQL and MySQL, with experience in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies.
- Familiarity with Jira/Confluence and telecom/telecom networks is desirable.
