Job Title: Sheltered Housing OfficerDepartment: Resident ServicesDirectorate: Safer Communities and HousingLocation: West EalingRole reports to: Neighbourhood ManagerOur client, a leading housing organisation, is seeking a passionate and dedicated Sheltered Housing Officer to join their team. If you have a strong background in housing, experience working with vulnerable residents, and a commitment to helping individuals sustain their tenancies, then this is the perfect opportunity for you!DutiesAs a Sheltered Housing Officer, you will play a pivotal role in improving outcomes for our client's residents. Your main responsibilities will include:* Providing customer-oriented housing services tailored to residents with high support needs, helping them sustain their tenancies and live independently.* Carrying out initial assessments and periodic reviews of residents' support needs and the suitability of their accommodation, making recommendations when concerns arise.* Conducting assessments to minimise risk to health and safety and fire safety for vulnerable residents, with periodic reviews for their support needs and making appropriate referrals.* Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team, collaborating with other relevant services to deliver tailored housing solutions.* Taking responsibility for at least one Sheltered Housing scheme, ensuring the welfare and safety of residents.* Coordinating appropriate welfare and emergency response for alarm activation and offering support and assistance to residents as required.About youTo be successful in this role, you should possess the following skills and qualifications:* Excellent customer care skills and the ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders.* A collaborative mindset and the capacity to work well within a team to achieve positive outcomes.* A strong understanding of equality and diversity principles and a commitment to acting in accordance with them.* Knowledge of housing benefit, universal credit, and other welfare benefits, as well as an understanding of government welfare reforms.* The ability to manage and direct your own workload, showing initiative and taking ownership of tasks.* Experience in delivering customer care to a diverse community and carrying out welfare or risk assessments.Our client offers a competitive hourly rate ranging from £19.50 to £25.62, PAYE or Umbrella.
