Are you a SHEQ professional looking for your next role?Our client a leading utilities contractor is currently looking for a  SHEQ Advisor to join their already successful SHEQ team working out of their offices in the Marston Green area. The ideal candidate will be working with the operations teams to ensure the safe delivery of all utility/service diversion works across the West Midlands area paying up to £350 per day via Umbrella. Duties & ResponsibilitiesAdvise construction managers, team leaders and site operatives in the field of statutory health and safety requirementsEncourage and action the reporting of near misses through proactive engagement with operatives and supervisors.Regularly inspect work locations and prepare and submit site inspections in a timely mannerReview and approve risk assessments and method statementsVerify that temporary works are implemented safelyConduct investigations of incidents and accidents identifying root cause analysis and recommendations to prevent re-occurrenceReport incidentsCompile and submit monthly KPI reports within agreed timescales to the regional SHEQ managerDeliver project inductions & undertake D&A testing (random & following incidents)Ensure actions from investigations are acted upon and assist operational teams in closing out actions in a timely mannerAssist operation teams to deliver toolbox talks & safety briefingsSupport Wellbeing Campaigns and deliver toolbox talks and briefings on subject matterAssist in the identification of safety training needs for site-based personnel and bring these to the attention of the SHEQ ManagerSuggest, communicate and promote initiatives for accident preventionMonitor compliance.Skills and KnowledgeNEBOSH General or Construction CertificateAppropriate Construction Skills Certification Scheme CardEUSR SHEA Gas/Power/Water/ Water Hygiene would be desirableMember of IOSHWorking knowledge of current UK Health and Safety legislation and best practiceKnowledge of street works and locating underground utilities/servicesKnowledge of Temporary WorksKnowledge of environmental regulationsKnowledge of NERs, GIRs & WIRs would be desirable.Ability to maintain records and prepare reportsIf interested, please do apply with your up to date CV and if successful we will be in touch.
