Shift Manager in Blackwood

Clear Sky Recruitment is pleased to be recruiting on behalf of an established manufacturing organisation based in the Blackwood area of south Wales. On their behalf, we are seeking to recruit an experience Shift Manager to join their team in a permanent role. Reporting directly to the Production Manager, the Shift Manager will be responsible for overall management of the manufacturing areas.Key Responsibilities: * Ensuring that the day to day operations are carried out efficiently and effectively * Managing all shift activities across two shifts * Monitoring production and process * Working in partnership with key support areas such as planning and engineering * Ensure that all employees are meeting the required standards and targets * Motivate, coach and develop your shift by setting, agreeing and reviewing individuals and department objectives, in line with business objectives * Complete performance reviews * Support a culture of continuous improvement * Ensure that employees are following and adhering to site policies and procedures * Complete regular audits of the manufacturing area, advising where improvements can be made * Proactively manage your direct reports absenteeism according to guidelines ensuring RTW meetings are taking place and also reviewing absence trends * Attend daily production meetings and present concerns identified from the previous days production runKey Requirements: * Effective communication skills * Previous experience of operating within a Shift Manager role * Excellent knowledge of technical Health & Safety requirements * Excellent trouble-shooter with the ability to resolve problems effectively, and within a cost-effective manner * Confident decision maker * Effective team player * Knowledge and experience of external auditsClear Sky Recruitment is committed to the selection and recruitment of the best people, basing judgements solely on suitability for the job.
