Technical Buyer, ProcurementnAre you an experienced Technical Engineer with a background in mechanical and or electrical components procurement in the engineering or manufacturing sector?nSedamyl is looking for a Technical Engineer to oversee the purchasing of technical goods and services. Working alongside our procurement office, you will ensure all suppliers and subcontractors deliver in alignment with our company's requirements. This role is pivotal to maintaining operational efficiency.nIf you possess strong negotiation skills, IT proficiency and can stay composed under pressure, this could be a great opportunity!nResponsibilities:nCultivate and sustain professional relationships with our suppliers and subcontractors to continuously enhance cost-effectiveness, quality, and continuity of supply.nAssist in building a supplier database to support the businessnIdentify and source components based on quality and pricenCollect data and report supplier KPIs, manage non-conformance and always work on continual improvement across the supply chainnWorking closely with our Technical Department supporting ongoing projects on all aspects of procurement.nUnderstands price analysis and can interrogate the Suppliers price to determine value for moneynCollaborate closely with suppliers and subcontractors to expedite deliveries, ensuring that promised shipment dates are met and disruptions to our production schedule are minimised.nComply with the Management System requirements for Health and Safety ensuring others work to company and policies and proceduresnComply with Risk Assessments, Method Statements and the Health and Safety Management SystemnEnsure compliance with the management systems requirement for the Environment and Quality by working to company policies and proceduresnUndertake additional responsibilities and tasks as requirednRequirements:nA proven background in buying electrical and mechanical components in the engineering or manufacturing sector.nProfessional Certifications / Member of CIPS (Chartered Institute of Procurement and Supply)nProficiency in negotiation at all levels, with a track record of securing favourable terms and conditions.nProficiency in IT systems, knowledge of SAP would be an advantage but not essential.nExcellent interpersonal and team-working skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues and external partners.nA systematic, logical, and organised approach to managing a high-volume workload.nAbility to work calmly under pressure and maintain professionalism, particularly during urgent and critical procurement situations.nIt would be beneficial to be able to read engineering drawings or BOM and identify critical aspects of a specificationnAbility to provide quality information within deadlinesnAttention to detail
