Job Title: Test Engineer

Salary: up to £42,000 per annum dependent on experience

Location: Cowes, Isle of Wight

We currently have vacancies to join one of the world’s leading, global defence, security and aerospace companies as a Test Engineer. There are 3 roles available and they will all be based in Cowes on the Isle of Wight. 2 of the roles will be working a shift pattern (6am- 2pm & 2pm- 10pm) which will alternate each week and the 3rd role will be a normal working hours based role- all 3 roles will require the post holders to be on site 5 days per week (no hybrid working available).

You will be joining a growing team, with career progression opportunities, whose main purpose is to verify technical performance of a wide range of products by carrying out detailed test procedures by diagnosing products using experience/ technical education and a range of test equipment as required.

Main Responsibilities:

· Test a wide range of medium complexity manufactured products

· Diagnosing a wide range of medium complexity manufactured products with limited technical support

· Testing in accordance with defined Test Schedule/Instructions

· Using a wide range of complex test equipment

· Using business systems to record product history/ compliance

· Working with minimal supervision

About You:

• Have an understanding of a range of technical disciplines such as analogue, digital, RF and micro-processing etc.
• Ideally experience in test procedures in one or more of the following: Conducted Radio Frequency Emissions, Radiated RF Emissions, Susceptibility Testing, Lightning and ESD and various Environmental tests.
• To make judgements based on own knowledge and experience of similar situations
• To be able to use technical knowledge to undertake complex fault investigations
• Have a technical related qualification to HNC level or equivalent experience

You must be eligible to apply for SC clearance and, therefore, must hold a British passport and have lived and worked in the UK for the past 5 years
