Merrifield Consultants are pleased to partner with an Arts Charity to find an experienced Trusts Fundraising Manager with a passion for supporting the stabilisation of young adults lives and a desire to grow the already succesful fundraising team. This person will have the opportunity to significantly impact the charity in a positive way, as they will be a cornerstone of fundraising for the charity moving forward. We are looking for a confident Trust fundraiser who can identify and flourish in this incredibly exciting role.

Job Title: Trusts Fundraising Manager

Organisation: The Big House Theatre Company

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Location: Islington, London (Hybrid working offered)

The charity uses drama as an effective and proven tool to have transformational effects on at risk young people. It does this by teaching and developing vital transferrable skills such as time keeping, focus, team working, effective communication and the ability to regulate emotions to list just a few.

Main responsibilities:

  • Identify, research and approach prospective contacts to cultivate relationships and generate new business.
  • Develop excellent written proposals including drafting and agreeing project budgets.
  • To develop and manage a realistic weighted pipeline of trusts and foundations income including the development of new multi-year and growth fund opportunities.
  • To seek opportunities to be involved in research projects, either as one of many organisations, or independent research focussing on the impact of The Big House and its work.
  • To work alongside the CEO and Finance & Operations Director to help develop realistic and achievable budgets and quarterly forecasts for the fundraising department in line with the organisation’s strategic plans.

Knowledge and skills:

  • Good knowledge of Trusts & Foundations funding, timescales, and reporting requirements.
  • Skilled in prioritising effectively within highly reactive environments and able to be administratively self-sufficient.
  • Creative thinker who can articulate compelling and persuasive cases for funding and support.
  • A passion for the arts and the impact it can have on individuals and communities.
  • Strong copywriting and research skills to be able to write compelling applications.
