Underwriting Analyst

Aviva currently have an exciting opportunity for an Underwriting Analyst to join the Personal Lines Home Underwriting team.

We’re looking for someone who has a strong knowledge of the UK General Insurance (GI) market, a good understanding of Home Underwriting .

You’ll be part of a supportive and dedicated team who work with stakeholders across the business to deliver good customer outcomes in our underwriting, whilst supporting the Personal Lines Strategy. 

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is looking to develop their skills and experience. The team work flexibly from the Norwich, Perth and Maxim Park @ Euro Central offices.

A bit about the job:

  • Analysis of Aviva's home portfolio to identify opportunities to shape future underwriting strategy, providing SME technical support and participating in projects and initiatives that support PL strategy.

  • Supporting the implementation of changes in underwriting strategy, rules, technical guidance and product/propositions.

  • Monitoring adherence to underwriting authorities, controls and regulation.

  • Develop technical terms for new products and propositions in collaboration with other teams, managing and maintaining accurate technical guidance and supporting Operational UWs.

  • Virtual collaboration with other teams to deliver good customer outcomes.

  • Skills & Experience:

  • Good understanding of UK General Insurance market

  • Knowledge of home insurance and underwriting

  • Analytical capability with experience working in SQL and Excel

  • Good communication skills – confident working a range of stakeholders across the business

  • A good knowledge of relevant regulations and legislation

  • Salary of Circa £28,000 - £35,000 (Depending on skills, experience and qualifications)
