Job Title: Warehouse Stores ManagerSalary: £30,000-£33,000 per annumLocation: Birkenhead, Northwest EnglandWorking for a leading Refrigeration and Air Conditioning company based in Birkenhead who specialise in Industrial Refrigeration, Refrigeration and HVAC, providing a wide range of services from design and installation to maintenance, service, and direct supply of spare parts.As a Stores Manager, you will be responsible for the operational management of the Stores Department, overseeing the safe receipt, storage, and despatch of parts/consumables, ensuring workplace health, safety and environmental requirements are met and take responsibility for the security of the building and stock.Duties and Responsibilities As Stores Manager :  Develop and execute stores operational procedures by closely monitoring compliance with standard operating proceduresCoordinate stock control operations by liaising with the stores team, after-sales, and finance departmentsKeep stores database up to date by entering supplier information and current pricingDevelop and execute strategic plans to enhance operational efficiency and effectivenessEnsure purchases stay within allocated budgets by minimising operational costsAssess the effectiveness of all stores team membersTrain and supervise stores staff by identifying learning and growth opportunitiesEnsure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations by closely monitoring day-to-day operationsEnsure safe and effective use of stores equipmentMaintain knowledge and awareness of the location and condition of toolsLiaise with stores staff to assess product quality upon deliveryEnsure goods are delivered on time by tracking inbound or dispatched shipmentsManage budgets, regulate spending, and identify opportunities for cost reduction.Ensure compliance with all company policies, procedures, and processesQualifications:Prior experience in a similar role, preferably in the refrigeration, HVAC, or related industryProcurement skills, ability to raise purchase orders, source suppliers, and negotiate pricing.Strong organisational skills to maintain accurate records and ensure efficient workflow in the stores department.Capability to lead and manage a team, including handling staffing issues, delegating tasks, and fostering a positive work environment.Effective communication skills to liaise with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and customers.Problem-Solving abilities. Aptitude to identify and resolve issues related to stock management, deliveries, and equipment maintenance.Health and Safety Knowledge. Understanding of workplace health and safety regulations to ensure compliance within the stores department.Computer Literacy.
