Civil Structural Engineer in Thornaby-on-Tees

NES Fircroft are working with an engineering design house in Thornaby who are looking for Civil and Structural Engineers.This is a long term contract opportunity working from their office in Thornaby. This role is available Outside IR35.PRIMARY PURPOSE OF ROLETo work as part of a Design Team responsible for the production of technical documentation to high professional standards within challenging programmes and budgetsKEY TASKS AND MAIN DUTIESPrepare and/or check design calculationsSupervise production of and check drawings/specifications for compliance with calculationsPrepare Technical Specifications/Reports/Scopes of WorkPrepare Technical Analysis of proposals provided by equipment manufacturers and contractorsCo-ordinate/liaise with other Engineering disciplinesInterpret Vendor drawings/informationWork to design budgets and programmesComply with Company Quality Management SystemsReport to Lead Civil EngineerOther professional duties reasonably requiredESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONSUniversity degree minimumAdditional equivalent Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status preferred  ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCEBackground in Heavy Engineering/Chemical/Petrochemical Industries preferred in relation to reinforced concrete  foundations, sub-structures, aqueous retaining structures and general infrastructure works(roads, hard standings and drainage schemes)  ESSENTIAL SKILLS / KNOWLEDGEEnglish Language – written, spoken and technicalSpecification/report writing (preferred but not essential)Awareness of and compliance with Company’s Quality Management System procedures and requirements.Ability to design/work to Eurocodes British Standards and Codes of PracticeESSENTIAL SOFTWARE KNOWLEDGEIT literateDesign/analysis software usage (preferably ROBOT & TEDDS but not essential)If you are interested in applying for the position, please forward your updated CV.With over 90 years' combined experience, NES Fircroft (NES) is proud to be the world's leading engineering staffing provider spanning the Oil & Gas, Power & Renewables, Chemicals, Construction & Infrastructure, Life Sciences, Mining and Manufacturing sectors worldwide.
