We are Hamelin Trust, an Essex based charity founded 40 years ago by two families raising children with learning disabilities.

At our Day Service, we are committed to providing fun, engaging, and educational activities for our guests – both on site and out in the community.

Within the Day Centre, these activities include arts and crafts projects, cooking, bowling, festive parties and park games.

The Day Centre hours are 9am - 4pm.

The role also involves Community Outreach, which will see you taking clients on trips out in the community.

These trips may include outings to the cinema, shopping, visiting the seaside and community walks.

About Hamelin Trust


Hamelin Trust (charity no: 1004432) is a leading Essex based charity for supporting people with disabilities and their families. We do this by providing different services

Day Opportunities:
Reuse and Recycle -I.T. equipment is either refurbished or dismantled for recycling by service users. Donated furniture is also refurbished by sanding down and re-applying varnish or paint. sew much fun adults can learn skills such as dress making and how to use the sewing machines
Roots and Shoots-our horticultural project is based at Sutton Bridge Farm in Rochford. There are opportunities for service users to be involved in a safe supportive environment in all aspects of gardening

Short Breaks:

Gowlands-short break respite care facility for adults with disabilities. Fully adapted to meet the physical needs of its guest, also based at Sutton Bridge Farm

Hydrotherapy Pool-purpose built and fully equipped with hoists from two large changing rooms over the full length of the pool it is also available for a wider community use.

Outreach-our outreach service provides a range of support to people of all ages with varying degrees of learning, physical or sensory impairments. The service is designed to support children, young people and adults within or from their own home and to
access local and universal community facilities and activities

Bungalow- Our purposely designed home to five adults with profound and multiple disabilities. The bungalow is fully wheelchair accessible and equipped to meet their individual needs.

Charity Shops:
The Hub- is our retail charity shop and training area. The adults we support will have the opportunity to carry out till training, window dressing and developing displays to showcase items for sale.
