Contaminated Land Consultant in Manchester

NSB Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for an experienced contaminated land specialist to join this highly regarded mid-sized multi-disciplinary consultancy.

This is an exceptional opportunity for an ambitious Geo-Environmental/ Contaminated Land Consultant looking to accelerate their career by joining this highly regarded National and International Consultancy. Responsibilities/Accountabilities

• Performing Phase I assessments, audits and desktop studies
• Safe delivery of site investigations on brownfield sites, both active and vacant.
• Supervision of specialist subcontractors – drilling companies and plant operators.
• Geological logging, performing field testing and gathering field data during investigations.
• Sampling of soils, groundwater and ground gases & environmental monitoring.
• Have strong technical writing, data management, organizational and communication skills.
• Support the tendering team in preparing proposals and site investigation specifications.
• Manage tasks and projects.
• Apply quality assurance and quality control processes.
• Mentoring junior staff & client liaison

Ideally You Will Have the Following

• A good honours degree in a relevant subject & a relevant scientific background in Geology, Environmental Sciences, Hydrogeology, Geological Engineering, or Geotechnical Engineering.
• Working towards full membership of a relevant institution (CIWEM, IEMA, IEnvSc, Geological Society, RSC or equivalent) and considering chartership in the future
• Experience in the delivery of site investigations and supervision of subcontractors.
• Soil logging experience.
• Experienced in the use of field equipment – PID, gas analyser, interface probes, hand shear vane etc.
• Commercial outlook
